Eastman is proud to be a winner of the 2008 Alfred University Galanis Award for Excellence in Family Business.
Nearly 40 family firms in Western New York have been honored since 2000. Eastman joins Buffalo Hotel Supply Company, John W. Danforth Company, L.C. Whitford Company and Quality Inspection Services, Inc. as this year's recipients.
The criteria that are used to determine winners of the Galanis Awards are financial stability, innovation, quality of life for employees, record of growth, and contributions to the Western New York community.
Eastman is a fifth generation family business. Two generations are still active: Robert L. Stevenson serves as president/CEO and Wade Stevenson, export President, are great-grandchildren of the company founder. R. Trevor Stevenson, a great-great-grandchild, is vice president of technical services.
The 2008 Galanis Awards For Excellence In Family Business will be presented at a luncheon ceremony to be held at noon on Wednesday, September 17, 2008 at The Adam's Mark Hotel, in Buffalo, New York.
