Cutting Demos at SAMPE and SPESA to Take Place May 18-20
5/11/2010

Eastman automated cutting systems have been a technological solution for increased productivity, quality, and cost control among a diversified list of customer applications for over 120 years.

The company’s comprehensive product line offers customers a single resource supplier for cutting, material handling and spreading equipment. New model releases include a dual configured laser and blade static cutting system as well as a multi-ply cutting system capable of cutting up to 7cm (2.75") of compressed material.

Eastman will demonstrate it's MPC-5000 Multi-Ply Cutting System and a 250 lb. capacity Saber spreading system at the SPESA Expo in booth 6129. Eastman’s MPC-5000™ Multi-Ply Cutting System is an automated reciprocating straight knife cutter, with conveyor, capable of cutting up to 5 cm (2 inches) of compressed material. The robust MPC-5000™ also features a resealing device; single air drill; Intellicut™ knife control software; and a six-stage vacuum turbine for maximum material edge hold down.

The SPESA Expo will be held at the Georgia World Congress Center in Atlanta, Georgia from May 18-20.

Across the country, Eastman will demonstrate to the composites industry a 60” wide x 16’ long automated CNC static cutting table during SAMPE, cutting fiberglass, kevlar and other composite materials. The Eastman M9000 is a single to low-ply cutting system that provides superior cutting performance and increased throughput. This fully automated cutter plotter is capable of marking, drilling and punching virtually any flexible material at speeds of up to 60 inches per second (152.4 cm/s). It is the ideal choice for sample making and prototypes and is the system of choice at leading composite manufacturing facilities around the world.

The SAMPE Show will be held at the Seattle Convention Center in Seattle, Washington from May 18-20.
